Vivacious and innovative, C Force is a chamber ensemble that offers a unique and intriguing approach to the traditional concept of chamber music. Their unusual instrumentation (flute, euphonium, and piano) allows for many types of classical music interpretations. Their diverse backgrounds contribute to the exploration of all types of non-traditional musical forms.
Since its formation in 2008, the group has been featured in concert throughout the islands of The Bahamas. Most recently C Force has been promoting the art music of the Caribbean with their performances in Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, the US Virgin Islands, and the United States. Their aim is to showcase little-known classical composers of the Caribbean region in original compositions, transcriptions, and arrangements.
Hailed by Jamaican pianist Paul Shaw as “Sheer Magic!” the members of C Force are unified in their desire to encourage music education in The Bahamas and throughout the Caribbean region and in their passion towards the commitment to the art form of music. Ensemble members Christine Gangelhoff, Christian Justilien, and Christy Lee are all faculty members at The College of The Bahamas in Nassau on the island of New Providence.
